There also is a volume control that your thumb can easily adjust, and a sturdy black nylon neck strap that allows it to be worn around your neck. The neck strap is very useful so that you don't have to hold the Megaphone at all times. Maximum output power is 25 watts which gives you an effective range of up to 800 yards, and it uses 6 "D" cell batteries (not included).This is a brand new item, still in the original box, and is incredibly useful any time you have a group of people getting together. SWEEEEET!January 14, 2008 I got two of these for "Dirty Santa Gifts" -- man what a hit of the party. Everybody wanted 'em. They're sweeeet. Pretty heavy duty too. I was expecting something cheaply made, but that is not the case at all. Everybody at the Christmas parties were asking me where I got them. There is a volume level controller, which is good.. cuz they get plenty loud.

This megaphone is well worth the price. It seems to be quite durable. It provides good amplification and is simply operated. I do not know how long the batteries will last since my requirements were for intermittent use. The music feature is probably unnecessary and of questionable quality.
