A Necessary set October 24, 2008 I work in industrial settings, and this is one of the few set of drill bits that have used that is long lasting. Most drill bits after a short period of use, are dull. These on the other hand are long-lasting.
Too good to be true September 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This set has a lot of great qualities:
-A nice little index box to keep everything in. The box even has a little latch to keep it closed. -Flats machined into the shafts to eliminate slipping. -Titanium nitride coating, which is nice for basic homeowner bits. But according to Wikipedia, "A titanium nitride bit cannot properly be sharpened, as the new edge will not have the coating, and will not have any of the benefits the coating provided." But, who wants to go back to black oxide when you can get these shiny golden bits for so cheap? -The price is right. -Your friends might think you spent a wad, since the "Milwaukee" brand name is right there on the box.
Well, there is the problem right there. To get a nice set of "Milwaukee" bits for this price is just too good to be true. The small ones break easily, and the sharpness varies significantly from bit to bit. I think I would buy them again if I could get them for a flea market price, where I could buy 5 sets and just toss them as I go through them. At first they appear to be a steal, but it turns out that they were way overpriced!
I'm going to keep the box though. Maybe as I throw the bits away one by one, I'll replace them with better ones.
Great basic set July 21, 2008 My old drill bit set had several dull bits. I considered a drill bit sharpener but they bits weren't that expensive to begin with so I bought these replacements. I'm quite happy with the purchase. They are a good set of bits, lots of sizes, and it's convenient carrying case too.
Handy kit for the tool box July 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
These aren't the highest quality bits out there, but the tough little case is great for jobs away from the homestead. I'm happy with this product.
i like these bits. June 21, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
having owned some cheap drill bits before which broke, i was hesitant to buy these, given the affordable price. however, these work great. no problems so far. and the case is nicely designed. just awesome!
