Umbrella BaseSeptember 29, 2008 I would recommend this umbrella base. It is extremely sturdy and the extention poll is longer than most. This prevents the wind from ever blowing over the umbrella.
Good for it's purposeAugust 27, 2008 I was going to use it under a table but I forgot to look at the height of the base. Even though it comes with two different height rods it was still too tall to work for me. I now use it for a stand alone umbrella and it works great. I do have to add extra weight with the stand alone. The screw in lock down does penetrate the wood of the umbrella and does not hold it as securely as I would like. Overall a good product and at the price I paid a bargain.
