These chairs are the ones we bee-line for when we go outside. They are comfortable and the gliding is relaxing. The tray on the side remains stationary when you glide and is just the right size for a beverage and a book. I agree with the poster who suggested that a chair pad would be good for prolonged sitting. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because there is more than "some" assembly required. It took ~1 hr. per chair because complete assembly is required. The directions are good and fairly easy to follow but it is also easy to go wrong. At the beginning of the directions it states clearly - Do not tighten screws and bolts until assembly is complete. This is important advice - don't ignore it.

The chairs arrived ahead of schedule. We are not very 'handy' but had no trouble at all putting the chairs together. Very high quality. Sliders work great! The only downside is the wooden slats are a little hard so for extended sitting, cushions are helpful.
