Product Description When the occasional need for steak knives arises, this set is budget friendly yet still offers the precision you desire. The set includes six knives and a wooden storage block to keep them safe and preserve the edge when not in use. Chicago Cutlery's familiar Walnut Signature series features stamped stainless steel blades with exclusive Taper Grind fine edges that provide the sharpest edge out of the package, lasting for years. Each knife features a full tang for balance and strength, and ergonomically designed, walnut handles with triple brass rivets.
Amazon.com Review Even the tenderest cut of beef seems tough when you're sawing away with a poor-quality knife. Better-quality blades cut through steak like butter and present this classic American cut of meat to its best advantage. An essential tool for the dedicated carnophile as well as a great hostess gift, this handsome set includes six steak knives measuring 4-1/2-inches long as well as an attractive hardwood block to store and protect the blades. Chicago Cutlery's Walnut Tradition line of cutlery combines high performance with excellent value. Stamped rather than forged for lighter weight and a more reasonable price, the blades are made from high-carbon, 420 stainless steel with carbon to keep edges sharper longer and chromium to resist rust and stains, while Chicago's exclusive Taper Grind edge produces impressively precise slices and retains its sharpness well over time. A full tang extends from the tip of the knife to the end of the handle for improved balance and strength. Comfortable walnut handles offer the rich warmth of wood and a classic look; they're securely held to the blade with triple-compression brass rivets for added safety and stability. Chicago Cutlery covers their knives with a lifetime guarantee; they recommend hand-washing and drying for best results. --Mary Park

Rough HandlesAugust 3, 2008 Nice hollow-ground blade and full tang, but the wooden handles were rough and unfinished. Has Chicago Cutlery never heard of sandpaper? Gave them to my son.
Great Steak knives!June 9, 2008 I bought these steak knives as part of a 'better together' deal and I am very pleased. I only wish I had bought another set for when all my kids come home! We raise our own beef so we eat a lot of steak. The little knife block is great too, helps me keep track of them all AND there is no danger they will be taken outside to cut hay strings (the eventual resting place of all my cheap steak knives). I will be watching for a great deal on another set!

The blades are really sharp, a wonderful replacement for my old knives. Chicago Cutlery is quality cutlery. The only criticism, if there is one, is that the handles could have been sanded a little more.
