Good for price but not the bestNovember 22, 2008 I bought this enclosure so I could clone my hard drive on my laptop to the 250gb WD 2.5 inch sata hard drive I bought. This enclosure is good for such things and now it holds my old hard drive which I use as a backup. Sometimes the enclosure wont work, I would have to unplug it and plug it in back onto my laptop until the hard drive was picked up. other than that its an ok product, transfer speeds aren't that bad and this is a good item so it can store your hard drive as a back-up and I wouldn't recommend traveling around with it since it doesn't look very road durable.
Great enclosure for swapped out PS3 hard drives!November 21, 2008 After replacing the included hard drive in my Sony PS3 with a 320GB unit, I needed a simple and reliable enclosure install the now un-used hard drive to use elsewhere. This hard drive enclosure is a perfect fit for any of the PS3 hard drives (80GB, in my case), and requires nothing extra to work with any PC as a back-up.
My enclosure (the StarTech SAT2510U2) fit together perfectly (small screw holes, that is) with no problems and attatching it to the old PS3 hard drive was very easy. The enclosure stays cool to the touch after prolonged use, and I only use one plug of the included Y-shaped USB cable to power it thru my PC.
In all, a sure-fire easy to assemble/install/use enclosure for anyone needing to use their swapped out PS3 hard drives elsewhere.
Good productNovember 4, 2008 This product performed as advertised. I use it 320GB WD Scorpio drive. Everything you need is in the box, and installing the drive was very quick.

took our old playstation 3 drive out and replaced it with a 320 gig unit. took the old 40 gig drive and placed it into this case and now have a neat packaged backup drive. only difficulty was the screw holes for the plastic end caps were misaligned and a little of a chore to install but still this product rates a 5 stars.

I bought two of these enclosures. Both work as advertised for my Macbook drives. BUT the main body is supposed to attach to the black end cap with two small screws. For both of my enclosures the screws didn't fit no matter how hard I tried. Poor quality construction.
There are other enclosures that are cheaper and better. I'm buying two of those to replace these. Hope you don't make the same mistake...
