very poorNovember 1, 2008 very poor device, It did not even cover more than 1 mile area. I used it along with Cobra HG A1500. I found "Midland GXT950VP4 5 Watt 42 Channel 30-Mile" much more better coverage and more protable. Everytime I switch it on goes to the default channel.

Nice CBAugust 11, 2008 Well worth the money and is really nice and compact. Built an overhead enclosure for it in my hotrod pickup and it really worked out nice.

Well i had my midland 1001z cb for only 6 months and i already had 3 problems with it, not the best cb, i replaced it with uniden 520xl cb im happy with uniden, but i grew up with cobra but they been having problems as well. best cbs are uniden in my case

Excellent little radio. A radio like this 30 years ago would have cost hundreds of dinero. Amazing performance from a $30 transceiver. I paired it with a Cobra HG-A1500 mobile antenna that I had and I'm on the air. Had contacts within 10 miles with this setup. No complicated setup whatsoever. Just plug and play. Amazon shipped fast and free as usual.
