Very Warm, and Very Attractive January 6, 2009 I bought this shirt for a friend who is attending college in upstate New York, where they major in freezing cold, strong wind and ice storms. My biggest concern when I bought it was that the shirt would have the "typical" thermal shirt texture - you know, with the little squares? Considering the price, I was also afraid that the shirt would only look thermal, but not keep her warm in the least.
I needn't have worried. The shirt has two layers: neither are thick and nothing looks textured. The shirt is just the right warmth; not sweltering indoors, and warm enough that she doesn't freeze while walking the quarter mile from the dormitories to the academic buildings. When she visited, she was wearing the shirt, and I didn't know it was the thermal shirt I bought. I thought it was a nice looking shirt she bought to look good. (those two things don't often go together)
The shirt has been laundered many times without subjecting it to any kind of special care: washed in the way only a college student can stuff a washer, and thrown in the dryer with jeans and sneakers. But it still looks new. To me, that is the ultimate compliment - looks great (even when abused while washing) and still keeps her toasty warm (but not sweaty). I plan to buy the shirt in any other colors available.
If you need to be warm despite wind chills, drafts and goofy people who prop open the doors in a snowstorm (using the dorm as a ready made snow fort), and you want to look feminine and attractive, then this is the shirt for you. I did deduct one star because the shirt ran a little bit small. My friend is a size six, and a medium fit her well. Buy a size bigger than you need.
Warm long-john December 6, 2008 This shirt is definitely warm, but the fit is not particularly stylish or flattering. I first ordered the small, 'cuz I'm either a small or a medium, but the small was too tight and I felt a bit strangled. I exchanged it for a medium which feels less binding, but is a bit large in the shoulders. I washed it to soften it, since it's 60/40 cotton poly. This helped a bit -- it's soft enough, but overall, I like material that flows a little better. I also like crew-necks to be a bit on the long side, which this isn't -- sort of boxy in shape.

Very pleased with the weight and softness of this. We're keeping our thermostat turned down this winter, and I needed more layers to feel warm. Would recommend to anyone looking for a little extra heat. Duofold Women's Mid-Weight Two-Layer Thermal #627A
love it! February 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this product! It is very warm and comfortable. I had initially gotten it just for warmth under other clothes, but I really like wearing it alone too. I had gotten a large size thinking that the cotton would shrink, but it didnt shrink at all so next time I would get a medium.

I like them as they are lightweight and actually look very nice. I have even had complimenets on them. I will definitly be getting more. If you are really needing warmth though you will want to get something a little heavier. These are pefect for me in the cool atmosphere I work but would not be good for hiking or hunting in the cold for long periods.
